Non-conference play is winding down for the Ohio Bobcat men and women’s basketball teams. Both teams had important road games on Saturday, and both fell in close contests by a combined deficit of five points.

Ohio had the last possession. Freshman Teyvion Kirk ran the ball up the court. Marshall’s defense was clamped on him and Jordan Dartis as Kirk attempted to get the ball out. Kirk had to pass to Gavin Block who tried to draw a foul on the final shot. No foul. No bucket. No win. Marshall squeaked through a 99-96 overtime victory on their own court.
