All the Ohio men’s basketball team needs to do to clinch a first-round bye in next week’s Mid-American Conference Tournament is defeat the Miami RedHawks Friday night at the Convocation Center.
The Bobcats could have locked up a bye on Tuesday, but instead fell 83-79 to Buffalo at home. While the top four seeds receive a first-round bye, the ’Cats find themselves in a five-way tie for the second seed here in the last week of the regular season. Ohio, Buffalo, Western Michigan, Kent State and Ball State all sport 10-7 conference records, and none of the teams will play each other in the final week.
