One game down. One win in the books for Ohio men’s Basketball. The Bobcats defeated the Alabama A&M Bulldogs 61-53 in the not-so-pretty season opener Saturday afternoon.
While Ohio had some bright spots, they obviously have some work to do.
With a noticeable turnover from last year’s Bobcats, some of the new names earned early recognition. Freshman Teyvion Kirk led all scorers with 16 points, and graduate transfer Kevin Mickle scored 10. Kirk shot 6 for 11 from the field, and Mickle was 4 of 8 in a game in which good shooting was rare.
Ohio as a team finished the night shooting 37 percent, and Alabama A&M was 34 percent from the field.
