With 14:23 left in the second half on Saturday vs. the Miami RedHawks, the Ohio Bobcats led 51-31 after senior forward Treg Setty made a layup. Up to that point, the Bobcats had controlled the game and looked well on their way to an easy win against their biggest traditional rival.
Miami, shorthanded due to missing four players due to injuries and suspension, made a big second-half run aided by a stretch during which the Bobcats turned the ball over six times in nine possessions. In the span of 6:21, Miami cut Ohio’s lead down to five.
“Give [Miami] a lot of credit,” said Ohio head coach Saul Phillips.
