A Jason Carter shot missed, but the fight for the rebound sent the ball flying to Antonio Cowart, Jr. standing on the final “O” on the Ohio logo. Cowart heaved the ball as the shot clock rang, and the ball smacked off the backboard right into the basket. With 4:13 remaining in the game, Ohio led for the first time 52-51.
The Bobcat men took their opportunities down the stretch, downing the Miami RedHawks 66-57 Friday evening in the Convocation Center. The victory snapped a two-game losing streak for Ohio in the Battle of the Bricks.
Ohio struggled offensively for the majority of the game.
