As soon as the Ohio Bobcat men’s season finally got on track, it went off the rails again, just when it mattered the most. In the first round of the Mid-American Conference Tournament Monday night, Ohio fell to the Northern Illinois Huskies, 80-61.
The Bobcats from the start never answered Northern Illinois’ hot shooting. The Huskies, who beat Ohio in both regular season meetings, never trailed in the game after shooting 56.1 percent from the field. The Huskies performed just as well on three-point attempts, converting 56.3 percent.
Ohio didn’t replicate the offensive magic that resulted in three wins in five games to end the regular season.
