For Central Michigan’s Marcus Keene, a simple flick of his wrist was enough to send shivers down the spines of the entire Bobcat faithful Tuesday night at the Convocation Center.
It didn’t matter where he was on the floor; the 5-foot-9 scoring wonder dropped 41 points to defeat Ohio 97-87 on its home court. Keene came into the game as the NCAA’s leading scorer, with 30.2 points per game for the Chippewas (15-8, 5-5 MAC).
Keene, a junior on pace to become the first Division I player since 1997 to average 30 points, hit 15 of 25 shots from the field, including nine three-pointers.
