There will come a day, in the far-flung future, when Gavin Block will be telling friends and family about his time as a college basketball player.
And like most former athletes, he’ll likely mention how he tried to play his guts out. The difference with Block, however, is he’ll have the surgeries to prove it.
As that playing career draws to a close for Block — a 6-foot-7 senior forward from Lincoln, Ill. — that’s the one thing he hopes people remember.
“I just tried to play hard all the time, and make the plays I think I can make,” he said.
