With a sudden first step, a long reach, and explosive ability to work around opposing offensive tackles, Tarell Basham hasn’t been able to sneak up on anybody in about three years.
Basham, Ohio’s lauded defensive end, has been a focal point of any opponent’s scouting report since he emerged in 2013 as the potential disruptive force. Double teams, option plays, running back coming to help against him from different angles are all things Basham has seen on a regular basis.
It’s familiar territory for a top-grade pass rusher.
“I feel like I’ve seen it all,” he said.
