Behind a dominant defensive effort, Ohio managed to escape Yager Stadium with a 17-7 victory on Saturday against the Miami RedHawks. The Bobcats (3-2) are now 1-0 in Mid-American conference play while Miami fell to 0-5 overall on the season.
There was a lot to like from the Bobcats on the defensive side of the ball. The ’Cats’ defense forced four turnovers including a fumble recovered for a defensive touchdown, recorded seven sacks, and held Miami to just 32 total rushing yards. As intimidating as Ohio’s defense appeared, its offense looked the complete opposite. Redshirt senior quarterback Greg Windham threw for just 56 yards in what so far has been the worst offensive showing for the Bobcats this season.
