Winter sports are still going strong, but that won’t stop a new season of sports from getting underway. Ohio Bobcat baseball and softball are starting on Friday while basketball begins to wind down.
The women’s team (13-10, 7-5 MAC before Wednesday evening’s game) played at Eastern Michigan Wednesday after The Athens NEWS’ print deadline. They play Bowling Green in the Convo Saturday at 1 p.m.
Men’s Basketball
The Bobcats and Toledo Rockets played back on Jan. 16, and the Rockets smoked Ohio 91-57 in Athens. It remains Ohio’s (10-15, 3-10 Mid-American Conference) biggest loss of the season and was the second 25-plus point loss in two weeks.
