Though Ohio University’s football team visits Buffalo this Friday, the Bobcats learned last night that no matter what happens in that game, they're not playing in the Mid-American Conference championship game on Dec. 2.
For the Buffalo Bulls, however, Friday's contest against Ohio does have meaning, as they sit at 5-6 and need one game to be bowl eligible. Ohio (8-3, 5-2 Mid-American Conference) could have clinched a MAC East title Nov. 15 against Akron, but the Zips beat Ohio in a home-field upset, then beat Kent State Tuesday evening of this week, 24-14. The home-field triumph over Kent propels Akron into their first MAC title game since 2005.
