Shutout for the first 12 innings of conference play, the Ohio University baseball team needed a spark.
Senior third baseman John Adryan was the one who struck the match.
Adryan blasted a pair of home runs to lift Ohio to a 4-2 win over Northern Illinois on Saturday afternoon at Bob Wren Stadium. It was the first Mid-American Conference win of the season for the Bobcats (10-12, 1-1 MAC), who were shut out 2-0 on Friday.
Ohio was blanked in the first three innings on Saturday, and trailed 1-0 entering the bottom of the fourth. Adryan then drilled a three-run homer to left to get the Bobcats going.
