Last season, the Ohio Bobcats were less than half a football field away from a Mid-American Conference championship. Then a 29-23 loss to nationally ranked Western Michigan was followed by a 28-23 loss to Troy in the Dollar General Bowl.
Ohio finished 2016 with an 8-6 record, no MAC title and no bowl victory. An otherwise solid season for Ohio ended with disappointment, but the 2017 Bobcats are already being pegged for success this season.
At MAC Media Day on Aug. 4, Ohio was picked in the Preseason Media Poll to win the MAC East Division again.
