Report: Raiders’ offensive line to stage protest Sunday night

On the stage of Sunday night football, just outside the nation’s capital, the Raiders’ offensive line reportedly plans to make a bold statement before its game against Washington.

The entire line will sit or kneel to protest during the national anthem, according to a report Sunday morning by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. The protest will come in response to President Trump’s comments Friday night, in which he suggested team owners should immediately fire any “sons of bitches” who do not stand for the anthem.

Oakland fields the only all-African American starting offensive line in the league: Donald Penn, Kelechi Osemele, Rodney Hudson, Gabe Jackson and Marshall Newhouse.
