Heading into the free agency period, the Oakland Raiders were short on money. At first, the team appeared to be moving slowly, not really making any kind of splash to help the team out in the upcoming season.
Then came the signing of Jordy Nelson, and after that, the team started to bring in players who can help them next season, and in the future. However, as players began to sign on the dotted line, two very evident truths began to rear their ugly heads.
The first was the fact that the Raiders might not have enough money to bring in anybody else, including paying their draft picks.
