Today was the day the Raiders tried out defensive backs. And they have signed one of them, adding former Lions cornerback Nevin Lawson.
The 5-9. 192-pounder was a fourth round pick by the Lions out of Utah State in the 2014 draft. He spent five years in Detroit, becoming a starter in his second season and starting nearly every game the past three seasons.
While Lawson has 25 career passes defended, he has never recorded an interception in his five-year NFL career.
