Jon Gruden will have a quarterbacks coach after all. The Raiders officially announced Monday the hiring of Brian Callahan for the position.
Callahan was the Lions’ quarterbacks coach the past two seasons and an offensive assistant in Denver for six seasons before that. He joins Gruden and offensive coordinator Greg Olson on a staff that has vowed to make quarterback Derek Carr a priority.
Carr, 26, is coming off his worst season since his rookie year - though he did represent the AFC in last weekend’s Pro Bowl as an alternate, throwing the game-winning touchdown to tight end Delanie Walker of the Titans.
