Still awaiting a new contract extension, Raiders defensive end Khalil Mack is not in attendance at Raiders’ OTA practice Tuesday. After having missed the entire offseason program already, his absence from OTA’s is not a big surprise.
These practices are voluntary, so it is not a ‘holdout’. Though any other year Mack would be here. Mandatory minicamps don’t begin in until mid-June, at which point hopefully he and the team will have agreed to a long term extension.
There’s no guarantee a new deal will be in place by then, however. Last offseason both Derek Carr and Gabe Jackson didn’t receive their extensions until after mandatory minicamp in late June.
