Former Raiders head coach fired by Seattle Seahawks

Tom Cable is out of a job with Pete Carroll’s coaching staff.

The Seattle Seahawks confirmed both Cable and offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell were relieved of their duties Wednesday as the team looks to make changes after finishing the season 9-7 and missing out on the playoffs for the first time since 2011. Cable and Bevell had been coaching with Seattle since 2011. Cable served as the team’s offensive line coach, having joined Seattle shortly after he was replaced by Hue Jackson as head coach in Oakland.

The Seattle offensive line’s inability to keep Russell Wilson upright may have played a factor in Cable’s firing.
