Christian Hackenberg we hardly knew ye. The former second round pick’s time in Oakland lasted exactly three weeks. He was acquired in trade with the Jets on May 22 and cut today ahead of the team’s mandatory minicamp. He and linebacker Brady Sheldon were both cut to make room for incoming veteran free agent additions Frostee Rucker, and Ahtyba Rubin.
Before you think the Raiders wasted a draft pick in trading for Hackenberg, they didn’t. The trade was for a conditional 7th round pick.
