Despite there being 22 men on the field each play, one position clearly stands above the rest, and that’s the quarterback. In a team sport, they are almost seen as individuals given their ability to change the trajectory of a franchise.
It is no different for the Oakland Raiders, last season plenty of things went wrong, but inconsistent play from Derek Carr was a glaring point. In fact, Carr had his worst season since his rookie year, tossing only 22 touchdowns and 3,400-plus yards.
Great quarterback play covers a multitude of problems, and if the Raiders return to the playoffs, it will largely be due to the man under center.
