And now for something completely tiresome.
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the Oakland Coliseum’s name is about to be changed for the fifth time in 21 years. RingCentral, a Belmont communications firm has purchased the naming rights to the maligned stadium for three years at a cost of $3 million. The deal includes an option for a fourth year.
“We have a contract that we are finalizing right now,” Coliseum Authority Executive Director Scott McKibben told the Chronicle. “The goal is to bring it to the authority for a vote Friday.”
RingCentral Coliseum would be the stadium’s fifth corporate moniker.
