MESA, Ariz. — With decisions on changes to speed up pace of play in Major League Baseball looming in the next two weeks, A’s manager Bob Melvin is bracing for the impact it may have on the way he handles his pitchers.
MLB commissioner Rob Manfred confirmed Thursday that new rule changes would be implemented in order speed up the current pace of play in major league games. The changes will come before the start of spring training games, regardless of whether the player’s association agrees with them or not.
The A’s will meet with MLB Executive vice president of baseball operations Joe Torre in the coming week to learn of the changes.
