The Oakland Athletics are in dire need of stability from the bullpen. Loss after loss in the late innings (or extra innings) has the fan base clamoring for fresh blood.
Look no further than the unlikeliest of unlikely candidates: Evan Scribner.
In the late innings of last Monday’s game in Anaheim, my brother and I were wondering how the A’s would end the game with the lead intact. He cried out for Evan Scribner. I had to to a double-take.
That is what the A’s are left with, however. Forever Scribner has been the 26th man, yo-yoing between triple-A and the major leagues for the better part of three seasons.
