Strong start for Andrew Triggs in A’s win

The A’s were fully satisfied with Andrew Triggs’ start Thursday.

He yielded two hits his first five innings and retired Mike Trout and Albert Pujols to open the sixth. Then he surrendered consecutive singles and got pulled after 91 pitches.

Liam Hendriks got out of the inning and threw another. Santiago Casilla worked the eighth, Sean Doolittle the ninth.

“It would’ve been great to finish off the sixth after getting the first two outs — boom, boom — and maybe go out for the seventh,” Triggs said.
