Pittsburgh Steelers safety Damontae Kazee has been suspended for the remainder of the regular season and any potential postseason games for repeated violations of player safety rules, the NFL announced Monday.

The suspension comes after Kazee was penalized and ejected from Saturday's game against the Indianapolis Colts for an illegal hit on Michael Pittman Jr. that left the wide receiver concussed.

Under the collective bargaining agreement, Kazee is allowed to appeal the suspension.
