Source: Phillies trade closer Giles to Astros for four players

The Phillies have traded closer Ken Giles to the Houston Astros for three pitchers and one more player pending physicals, a source confirmed to CSNPhilly.com's Jim Salisbury. The names of all the players were not immediately known.

The 25-year-old Giles took over the closer's role after the trade of the much-maligned Jonathan Papelbon on July 28. Giles was 15 for 17 in save opportunities with 1.71 ERA in 26 1/3 innings after the trade.

Overall in 2015, he posted a 1.80 ERA in 70 innings with 87 strikeouts. Giles has a 1.56 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 151 strikeouts in 115 2/3 innings in his brief major-league career.
