Source: A's have had discussions with free agent RHP Shelby Miller

The A's have not yet signed any starting pitchers this offseason, but they continue to be active in their search.

After reaching out to Edwin Jackson, Trevor Cahill, and Clay Buchholz, Oakland has now had talks with 28-year-old right-hander Shelby Miller, a source told NBC Sports California.

Miller became a free agent last week when he was non-tendered by the Diamondbacks, ending a nightmare three-year stint in Arizona. In 2016, Miller went 3-12 with a 6.15 ERA. His 2017 season ended after just four starts when he had to undergo Tommy John surgery.
