ARLINGTON, Texas – Over the course of the coming week, both the A’s rotation and bullpen should see a boost from the disabled list.
Sean Manaea is coming off the DL after a stay of just over two weeks to tend to left shoulder tightness to start Monday’s game in Seattle against the Mariners. Then later in the week the club could see reliever John Axford, who has missed all 36 games played so far thanks to a right lat muscle problem, return to bolster a struggling bullpen.
Manaea said he feels “as good as I’ve felt all year” after a couple of injury rehabilitation appearances
Axford pitched for Triple-A Nashville Saturday night and threw a scoreless inning, needing just 12 pitches to do so.
