OAKLAND -- Shortstop Marcus Semien was back in the A's clubhouse Thursday afternoon, sporting a cast two days after undergoing right wrist surgery that will likely keep him out of the lineup for at least two months.
Semien opted to have a screw inserted into the scaphoid bone of his wrist to expedite the healing process, rather than simply hope a cast would be the trick.
"If you just put it in the cast and nothing happens after six weeks, then I'd have to get the surgery, and that would be 12 weeks, so I said, let's just do it," Semien said.
