Semien powers A’s past Rangers

ARLINGTON, Texas — No major leaguer has played more games than Marcus Semien this season.

Despite a rare error Friday night, the A’s shortstop had one of the best of his 64 games. Semien went 4 for 5 with two home runs, including the game winner, and four RBI as Oakland rallied to beat the Texas Rangers 5-3.

Semien hit a two-out, 3-2 pitch from losing pitcher Jose Leclerc just into the lower deck in right field. Scoring ahead of him was Jurickson Profar, whose one-out slicing, looping liner landed on the left field line and went for a double.
