SEATTLE — No pitcher has been more dominant in the American League than Sean Manaea to this point, and now the rest of the league is starting to realize just how good he is.
Manaea was named AL Pitcher of the Month for April following a fantastic stretch that reached its climax April 21 when he tossed a no-hitter at the Oakland Coliseum against the Boston Red Sox, the seventh no-hitter in Oakland A’s history.
Manaea’s numbers for the month are certainly eye-catching. He went 4-1 with an ERA of 1.00 in April, racking up 30 strikeouts in 36 innings over his five starts to become the first A’s pitcher to win the award since Rich Hill in May 2016.
