A’s reliever Evan Scribner is among those players qualifying for “Super Two” status this winter, meaning Scribner becomes eligible for salary arbitration a year earlier than would normally be expected.
Scribner joins a large list of Oakland players eligible for arbitration this winter – 15 in all, most in the majors. The A’s must decide by early December whether to tender contracts to all of these players. Those who are non-tendered become free agents.
Scribner pitched well enough early this season to move into the setup role temporarily, but he struggled mightily over the second half of the season before a torn right lat muscle sidelined him for the year in September.
