MESA, Ariz. — He's no Hercule Poirot, but Jesse Hahn set out this offseason to solve a mystery.
The A's starter missed the final three months of the season when he elbow acted up, and he had intermittent bouts of right forearm tightness. He wanted to know why and what he could do to keep those issues from cropping up again. While he may never know for certain, Hahn has narrowed the list of suspects down. He's decided the culprit may have been the slider he'd thrown with reasonable effectiveness the first half of the 2015 season with Oakland.
