The MLB trade deadline is four days away, with Friday marking the last chance for clubs to make deals with each other. A few teams have already struck, and the Oakland A’s appear likely to be buyers as well this week.
One player on the A’s radar is Pittsburgh Pirates reliever Richard Rodriguez, as they are “among the teams to show interest” in the right-hander, reports insider Jon Morosi.
“Oakland is prioritizing a bullpen upgrade at the deadline,” adds Morosi.
The 31-year-old Rodriguez is in his fourth season with the Pirates, and has spent all of this summer as their closer.
