MINNEAPOLIS -- The injury-riddled A's were on the mend for all of a few days before taking a hit to their bullpen. Right-hander Fernando Rodriguez was placed on the disabled list Monday with a shoulder strain, the same issue that put left-hander Sean Doolittle on the DL last week.
Rodriguez is scheduled for an MRI on Tuesday, manager Bob Melvin said, and then the A's will have an idea of how long they'll be without him.
His departure from the active roster set off a series of roster moves, with the A's also optioning left-hander Daniel Coulombe to Triple-A Nashville on Monday and promoting right-hander Andrew Triggs and lefty Patrick Schuster.
