ANAHEIM – One thing the A’s have demonstrated this season is that little mistakes, added up over the course of nine innings, often equate to bad news on the scoreboard.
It’s happened throughout the course of this disappointing campaign, and it didn’t change as Oakland began the final week of the regular season with a 5-4 defeat to the Los Angeles Angels.
The A’s gave a spirited effort, battling back from two different deficits and commanding a 4-3 lead at one point. They got a much-needed six innings from lefty starter Felix Doubront, which gave some rest to a bullpen that’s been called on far too early in games lately.
