ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The box score may not have necessarily reflected it, but there were signs of progress for Kendall Graveman in Saturday night’s loss.
What it means for his future in the A’s rotation is anyone’s guess.
Graveman took his fourth consecutive loss as the A’s were blanked 6-0 by Tampa Bay Rays right-hander Matt Andriese, who handed them their first shutout since last September.
Graveman needed to be perfect on this night, and he was not. He gave up Brad Miller’s two-run homer in the third inning and left after 5 2/3 innings having allowed four runs on six hits and three walks (one intentional).
