The Oakland A’s have apparently gotten over the disappointment of losing a potential ballpark site near Laney College. According a report Monday in the San Francisco Chronicle, they now want to purchase the Coliseum site.
Team president Dave Kaval told the Chronicle, “We think the best way to guarantee our long-term viability and success in Oakland is to own our own house.”
Kaval expects to send a letter to Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf and the Alameda County Board of Supervisors, perhaps as early as Monday.
