Report: Mariners 'appear close' to acquiring A's Scribner

The A's have been one of the most active teams in baseball this offseason by stockpiling bullpen arms.

With a bevy of new reliever, Oakland could be shipping one out of town. Evan Scribner may be the odd man out, and it appears the Mariners are close to trading for the right-hander, according to Bob Dutton of the The Tacoma News Tribune.

Scribner, 30, went 2-2 with a 4.35 ERA in 54 games out of the 'pen in 2015. He also struck out 64 batters in 60 innings pitched.
