The American League’s hottest team will be without its top power hitter as A’s designated hitter Khris Davis was placed on the injured list with a left hip/oblique contusion on Friday.
Davis will be replaced by rookie outfielder Skye Bolt, who was hitting .311 with six home runs and 30 RBIs in 34 Triple-A games. Bolt was recalled from Las Vegas for the second time this season after going 1-for-4 in three games with the A’s.
Mark Canha, who homered in back-to-back games after replacing Davis on Wednesday, is a good bet to get some at-bats at designated hitter as the A’s put their six-game winning streak on the line Friday against the Mariners while beginning a nine-game homestand.
