After more than a year of earning brutal press coverage, the Oakland-for-now A's are belatedly trying to get people to like them while they prepare to bolt for Las Vegas. Team president Dave Kaval has been on a press tour, talking up the team's alleged plans to be actually competitive once they move. In an interview published Thursday morning, owner John Fisher broke his years-long streak of not speaking to reporters. Revealingly, the interview was conducted on the most friendly turf possible: The right-wing Las Vegas Review-Journal, which has consistently shilled for the A's Sin City move.
