Rare homer allowed by Lou Trivino costly as A’s fall to Angels

ANAHEIM — The last time the A’s played a series at Angel Stadium, things were just a little bit different.

Ohtani-Mania was at its peak, as the Japanese nearly tossed a perfect game against them. Boog Powell was the A’s starting center fielder at the time, and Kendall Graveman their No. 1 starter. The A’s are much-improved now, but their struggles in the division remained in Friday’s 4-3 loss to the Angels.

Brett Anderson was given a nice three-run cushion before he even took the mound and made it stick as he turned in five quality innings of two-run ball.
