The A’s lost, 4-2, to the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday night, snapping a three-game win streak and pushing them a half game out of the second wild card spot behind the Tampa Bay Rays. Here are some takeaways.
A rested Anderson returns
Brett Anderson was just a few hours into father-dom the last time he took the ball for the A’s. A few hours of infant care was plenty for Anderson to fall behind on his sleep schedule, and he struggled through one of his worst outings of the year.
He was a bit more well-rested in Wednesday’s start against the Brewers, even if the second pitch he threw left the park off Lorenzo Cain’s bat.
