OAKLAND – The closest some players on the roster at Triple-A Nashville will get to playing in Oakland came in a four-game series that ended Monday night in Sacramento.
That’s the reality: Not every player to make it to Triple-A will advance the final step to the major leagues. Nashville manager Ryan Christenson knows this but seems to feel that most of his current charges have a chance to make the final leap.
Just not this week.
Take the team’s No. 1 prospect, Franklin Barreto, who carried a .311 average, .361 on-base percentage and .491 slugging percentage into Monday.
