STOCKTON, Calif.— The Ports are excited to announce that for the first time in team history, they will be honoring a former Ports player with a retired number as part of Banner Island Ballpark’s 10th Anniversary.
On May 2nd, to coincide with A’s Night, the Ports will pay tribute to Dallas Braden during a pre-game ceremony when the Ports will officially retire No. 50, the number Braden wore during the 2005 and 2006 seasons with Stockton.
“Honoring Dallas by retiring his Stockton Ports number 50 is our pleasure,” said Ports President Pat Filippone. “Both on and off the field Dallas was undefeated with the Ports - from dominating performances on the mound in our uniform, playing an integral part of our community outreach initiatives, coming to Ports game as a fan, and acting as a mentor to numerous Ports players.
