OAKLAND -- The A's have become accustomed to late-game magic this season. They found more of it on Wednesday.
Stephen Piscotty had three RBIs, including a go-ahead two-run double with the bases loaded in the eighth inning as the A's beat the Padres, 4-2, to win both games of the two-game series at the Coliseum and record their eighth win in their last nine games. They are a season-high nine games over .500.
The eighth-inning hit was Piscotty's third double of the game. It was set up by a leadoff walk to Jed Lowrie, a double by Khris Davis and an intentional walk to Matt Olson by Padres reliever Craig Stammen to load the bases.
