Pinder’s homers, Lowrie’s doubles spur A’s win over Texas

It was a two-fer day for Chad Pinder and Jed Lowrie, Pinder homering twice and Lowrie, fittingly, with a pair of doubles.

Between them, they accounted for five RBIs and four runs in Oakland’s 8-3 victory over Texas on Saturday at the Coliseum. Pinder, a rookie, has 12 homers in 66 games this season, while Lowrie is tied for the league lead in doubles, with 40.

Lowrie, who had 45 doubled in 2013, is the fourth man in Oakland history to record 40 or more doubles more than once, joining Jason Giambi, Eric Chavez and Ben Grive.
