Petit gives up lead as Athletics see win streak snapped at six by Twins

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — One pitch, damage done. Eddie Rosario blasted Yusmeiro Petit’s first-pitch fastball over the Target Field fence for a go-ahead, three-run home run in the seventh inning, handing the Twins a 6-3 victory to kick off this four-game series on a balmy Thursday night.

The loss ended the A’s six-game win streak.

Rosario’s raucous home run plated Luis Arraez and Miguel Sano, who’d singled and walked on Fiers’ watch. The A’s ace entered the game riding a seven-game win streak, holding opponents to a .190 average with a 2.09 ERA over that span.

Fiers watched as that pristine streak incurred a slight blemish.
